• Organizational Rebirth: Leading a shift from an “entitlement mindset” to a performance-driven culture to revitalize GBC for its next era.
• Public Service Excellence: Strengthening GBC’s commitment to impartial, fair, and objective content generation that prioritizes national cultural interests.
• Regional Integration: Advocating for an ECOWAS TV channel to leverage media as a tool for regional unity and storytelling.

Academic and Professional Background

Before his appointment as Director-General, Prof. Alhassan held several high-profile academic positions:

• University for Development Studies (UDS): Served as the Principal of the Wa Campus and was the Founding Dean of the Faculty of Agribusiness and Communication Sciences.
• International Teaching: Held faculty positions at prestigious institutions including McGill University in Montreal, York University in Toronto (as an Associate Professor), and the University of Tampere in Finland.
• Journalistic Roots: He began his career as a correspondent for the Ghana News Agency and a radio journalist with GBC, grounding his leadership in practical industry
  experience.

• PhD in Development Communication: Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.
• Doctor of Social Sciences & MA in Mass Communication: Tampere University, Finland.
• Diploma in Journalism: Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ).
